Less experienced commercial photographers may well require you or someone from your business to provide oversight and direction during the photoshoot.
We mentioned that photography price and photographer availability aren't the primary factors you should consider when assessing photographers, but it IS a factor you will need to cover at some point.
If price and availability aren't reliable factors for selecting and hiring a commercial photographer to create imagery which performs, then how do you select an agency to take your brand to the next level?
In parts 1 to 3 of 'The Commercial Photoshoot', we've discussed what might be expected to take place during a brand photoshoot, from initial contact all the way through to the shoot itself. There is one last stage though, post production - the editing and retouching of the raw imagery taken on the day in order to transform it into the final imagery to be used in Brand marketing materials. Typically this is done by us in house, using state of the art software and powerful computers in order to make the process both quick and efficient.
With all the work which has already gone into the planning and preparation stages of your commercial photoshoot, it can be immensely gratifying to see all the pieces of the puzzle come together when it should.
For the most part, the task of photoshoot preparation is one of organisation and logistics. In the planning stage, it was identified what the outcome should look like and what would be needed to make it happen, the preparation stage involves making sure that on the day of the photoshoot, the sets will be ready or locations booked, all the necessary people are present and prepared, that all the required equipment is ready to go and that the subjects of the shoot are all ready to be captured.
Once you've made the decision to engage an expert commercial photographer to step your brand marketing up to the next level, the first thing you'll need to do is to contact such a photographer to discuss the job and get a quote.
If your business has only just outgrown its current marketing methods you may not have briefed a photographer before, but don't worry Ikon makes it easy.
For industries which have a seasonal turnaround of product ranges, in particular, the textile and fashion industries, it's important to create and prepare marketing assets well in advance. During Autumn & Winter, you're planning your Spring & Summer ranges and vice versa.
